Lotus

Rarely does a world-honored one appear, But once in long ages; One hundred and eighty kalpas Have passed away empty, with never a buddha, The three evil regions becoming replete, While heavenly beings decreased. Now the buddha has appeared in the world To become the eye of all living beings, The resort of all the world, Savior of all, Father of all the living, Who has compassion for and does good [to all].
